If i put a 400+hp turbo motor into a na coupe do i need a new drivetrain? A new driveshaft, rear axle, new differential? Would the chassis be subject to potential twisting?

NA drivetrains seem to hold up to stock-ish T2 power levels, but the line seems to be once you're past that, the transmission and diffs are a crapshoot.

I believe Kevin Landers of Rotary Resurrection had a 466whp build that he used a non-turbo rear end on, possibly the trans as well. BUT, he didn't beat the crap out of it. I remember him saying the biggest thing that had preserved it for him was that he didn't make hard launches. But where's the fun in that? lol For that kind of power you might as well have a beefier trans/diff.

With an open diff, street driving and sub 400HP, you will probably get about 2 years out of the transmission. The lack of traction is a drivetrain saver. When you start actually putting that power to the ground, you will break NA transmissions at will.

Above 400HP, they just break.

Considering that these transmissions are overstressed from the factory on a 146HP engine, I don't think that's too bad.
