I'm wondering what my problem is now, it's not compression motor is a 20 mile old reman, but the idle is crappy and it stuters i know the hesistation which is random is the TPS, but when i unplug the TPS it wan'ts to die at idle, and i can give it gas but it sitll doesn't want to hold idle. I plugged theTPS back in and now it's idling right now int he drive way, anyone care to some shed light on this

20 mile or 20k mile?

the motor will not work right without the TPS. That's like saying "I took the intake manifold off and now my car won't start"

Yes, the motor *should* still run w/o the TPS plugged in.

Been my experience that the TPS is nessesary with the OEM ECUs.

The car may run a short distance without the TPS plugged in, but generally will not be working right and may stall or have major dips in power.

Some cars tend to run without it and some cannot.
I think hIGGI's FC would NOT run without it.
He owns an '88 model.

I've driven 40 miles with TPS not plugged in, on accident, a major backfire issue. But it ran. This is on 90 vert n/a, but TPS is gone on top end. Just .02 worth, from reading, and personal experience, TPS or AFM was the issue for me.
