idea on omp block off

hey guys i got an idea today at school.

if i filled the bolts for the omp or got different ones would i be able to cap off the omp at the banjo bolts for the injector lines at the pump? like fill the banjo bolts at the pump for the lines. then dissconnect the lines and the actuator and all that crap. then run premix would this work?

If it was a s5 i might see doing this but on a s4 whats the point? It will make no difference and its not all that much more work to just remove the pump. But to answer the question it should work as long as the rod is removed and its not trying to send much pressure through the pump.

Most people with an s4 will just remove the entire OMP and all related parts and then use a block off plate. People with s5's may take the OMP off the front cover but can only tie it out of the way since it needs to be plugged into the harness or the ECU will put the card into limp mode unless you have a full EMS/standalone ecu.

IN BOTH CASES YOU MUST PREMIX.

Does the S5 still have the linkage from the throttle to control flow? I'm just going to pull the linkage off of my S4 GXL next time I'm dinking around in there to disable it once and for all... at least I think that'll do it. It's certainly not burning any oil right now, so I've been forced to premix (and my engine has been running MUCH smoother since).

s5 is electric and has no mechanical arm attached to the throttle. That's why s5 guys cant get rid of the OMP totally.

Just removing the rod on the s4 doesnt completly disable it, it will still run slightly.

Slightly is ok, just as long as I'm not dumping a Qt. in every 1,000 miles.

I think the OMP system is actually using less oil then is leaking from a bad crush washer on my oil cooler.
