I want a TII...

I have some quick questions about FC's in general, as I'm an FB owner and haven't looked into second gens until now.

Can someone either list off all the FC models or give me an accurate site?

Are there any problems common to the TII?

Is 140K many miles to buy the car with, or should a rebuild keep her running for a good long while?

Last question: What do I look for while test driving it? I haven't even driven a turbo before, so help me out.

Thanks.

you want to check out the FAQ at the top of the page it covers all the basic info on fcs and what models and options were available to get a good idea depending on what you want and plan to do with it.

You wanna make sure the turbo is spooling obviously, and like any rotary car you wanna make sure its running properly. Spend a lot of time under the hood, look for anything out of place, anything that looks new. Check the wire harnesses and make sure nothing has been rewired. If it has ask tons of questions. While driving you also want to pay attention to the suspension. They tend to develop a "clunk" in the rear end from worn bushings. oh and back on the subject of the turbo again, make sure that the boost comes online and holds steady. I'm sure I'm forgettin something hopefully someone will help me out.

I'm scoping out a TII also.
My only worry is slightly low compression on one rotor.
You can hear it if you listen closely to the starter gear sound.
The compression surges should be exactly even.
like rrRRrrRRrrRRrrRRrrRRrrRRrr.
I'm hearing rrRrrRRrrRrrRRrrRrrRR - every other surge is not as loud.
The other stuff is obvious - AC is broke, window switch is broke, radio is broke, chin splitter is missing, left door handle is broke, window tint is peeling, tires are bald, drivers sholder belt is jammed.
All that stuff affects the price.

I'll definitely take all that into account when I test drive these...two*?* FC's. I was already planning on checking out everything under the hood, so I'll remember these things to look for.

EDIT: How much do s5 or s6's usually run for? Or aren't s6's really available? I haven't heard of an s6 owner yet.

T2's are one of the very best true sports car values anywhere!
When test driving, make sure you see no smoke at startup or during WOT...
Never just take any car for a quickie around the block test drive, make sure you try her out under all condition!
These cars can be made to go very fast and handle very well rather cheaply...
Do your homework & read all about them...
Good luck/skill!
