Megasquirt MS3-pro?
ok, i'm in the process of trying to figure out what management i need for my s4 TII... i'm looking into buying a pre assembled megasquirt system...i just saw the ms3-pro for $1199....it says it will run upto 4-rotor engines....i have a street ported 4-port that i will be using a Knight sports hybrid turbo.... thinking about 1000cc injectors.....the car is my drift car....not much street use (maybe a car show with a drift demo) i need help on if the new ms3-pro would be a good choice
It would be a great choice. It's everything the normal MS3 is currently with a bunch of extra hardware features (RTC for logging, knock, etc...) and good connectors. It's mainly a matter of how much money you are willing to spend.

Don't the MS3-Pro has much better VR conditioners. DIYAutoTune redesigned the circuit to use Maxcell chips (I forget which ones...I'd have to open up my unit which isn't with me at the moment) that are worlds better than the old comparator/LM1815 based circuits. A big deal for the CAS, which can be a bit challenging to get a stable signal from. And no more twiddling pots. The harnesses also need no modification to run a 13B. It's about as "plug and play" as any other wire-in standalone.
I am also looking into buying an assembled MS3/MSX or MS3-Pro for my TII swapped S5 vert. I am using it for the same thing as crashking95, it is a purpose built drift car that's trailered to events and rarely street driven. My question is between the two and the price difference being pretty significant, what are the advantages of the Pro over MS3/MSX? Will the MS3/MSX not support the ignition tables required for running a rotary? I know people are using the MS3/MSX on rotaries but I want this to be as small of a headache as possible. Thanks in advance.
The MSpro is a condensed version of the MS3 and MSX with a better harness connector, and some other various differences.
it does support FC ignition tables.

Well as long as the MS3/MSX will do the job I might as well save a few hundred and buy it instead. Thanks for the info Peter.
As usual for me, I just got my MS3 a couple of weeks before the pro came out. Can I upgrape my 3 to pro specs? The better CAS working sounds like a good thing. I have'nt started my conversion yet.

unfortunately, no. But, you can get the knock feature and the real time clock and you will have the same feature set for your MS3.
The Pro contains all of this in one package with different harness connectors and a plastic case.

Yes there is. look here http://msextra.com/doc/ms3/rotary.html#fc. If you want something else, there is a plethora of other options as far as ignition. The popular option these days is the ign-1a's

Just received my MS3-Pro in the mail and I must say I'm already very please with the craftsmanship put into this unit. Everything is extremely well made including the box it came in lol. Can't wait to get it installed and setup.
