I need some ideas.

alright, the time for me to start laying out a plan for my car is rapidly approaching.

Here are my goals, with a 1 year timeline, using a TII -

Beat a stock Camaro Z28 in drag racing.

Be competitive at a local level in Autocrossing.

Not wake up neighbors, or parents, when I pull out of the drive way at midnight.

Still have stereo system.

Mildly impress girls with car

have the car functional atleast a total of 11 months out of the year.

Now, here Is how Im thinking I can achive these goals, In steps

step one - Spring, 2003 - Get car, Put on 17x9 lightweight wheels, and maby falken azenis tires, maby BFG G-Force (dont know what for sure, yet), vented hood

step 2 - Mid Summer, 2003 - Full Exhaust system, From the Turbos all the way back. As wide and light as I can get, within reason of price and sound. Also, New, better radiator

step 3 - Early/Mid Fall, 2003 - Fuel system, FMIC,

step 4 - Beginning of Winter, 2003 - Winter Tires, Computer Systems.

step 5 - Early Spring 2004 - NEW, BIG TURBO, and whatever mods required to make it work.

well? what do you guys think of that plan? do you think I could afford it, with a TOTAL budget of 15k, throughout the whole project? What changes would you make?

I wouldn't worry about "getting wide and light" when you haven't mentioned any suspension upgrades... Beating a Z28 isn't that hard, especially with a turbo back exhaust and a fuel cut defenser... Autocross requires nice tires and all, but if you get some nice springs/struts/anti-roll bars/strut tower braces, you will out handle almost anything.

I'd put looks on the back burner for a little while. Heres the order I'd prolly go(or have gone):

intake(TID mod)
fcd
gauges(boost/egt)
dp/mp
larger fuel pump
s-afc
upgraded radiator
upgraded shocks/struts/springs
larger injectors
catback
fmic

You can add a bov and better tires along the way somewhere as well as whatever cosmetic mods you'd like.

For autocrossing, forget 17s. Anything you find is going to be heavier than the stock rims anyway. 17s are for looks, 16s are ideal on an AutoX course.

If you want to get good at the auto-x, it's all about seat time, not how fast your car is.

Just pointing out that aspect.
