I am doing radiator flush and i can find the drain bolt on the block could someone help me i am doing this right know and i would like this done asap

 

get a FActory Service manual or a haynes manual. FSM in pdf form @ www.RX7city.com

 

The drain bolt for the engine block is on the driver's side near where the motor mount connects to the actual block. If you reach down there and feel the bolts, one will feel a bit longer than the others. You want to remove that one to drain the block. Hope this helps... Oh yeah, get a Haynes or the FSM.

 

i do but the pic in the haynes is different from the actual bolt
is there a black hose connected to it

There should be no hoses connected to it. It should just be a long, brass colored looking hex bolt near the driver's side motor mount. Sorry, I do not have a picture handy right now though.

 

how you burp the system

 

I just drained AND flushed my S5 cooling system, so yeah. (I'm doing this by memory so forgive me if I say something slightly incorrect) To drain the engine block, look in from the driver's side at the engine and you should see 4 hex nuts in 2 rows & 2 columns. The one at the bottom towards the front of the car (your left) is what drains the engine block, it should be a long nut.

To drain the radiator, jack up the car and you should find the drain plug on the under side of the radiator. The plug looks like a phillips, but it is easier if you just use a flat-head (not exactly shaped like a phillips, you should see what I mean).

If you have an S4 you should also have a drain plug where the huge hose goes into the top of the radiator on the passenger side. Sorry I can't be more specific, I didn't have to deal with it in my S5... but it was in the Haynes Manual, so I figured it's just on S4s.

If you end up flushing the system, tell me and I'll do a write up on that as well.

And what is burping a cooling system?

BTW, you need to say what car(s) you have in your profile .

 

Burp.. squeeze the upper radiator hose slowly with the motor running and the radiator cap off. Bubbles will start to appear in the radiator cap hole if air is present. You may have to do this a lot depending on how much air is in the system. Release the squeeze slowly so you do not suck air in from the radiator. You can help reduce trapped air by filling the radiator slowly while filling with H2O during a flush/change. Slow fill gives the air time to rise in the system rather than be trapped.

The engine drain bolt is clearly shown on the first page of the FSM Cooling System chapter. Should've been the first place you looked...
