I need help. Remove emissions or not?

ok i searched so nobody flame me. What im wondering is my 86 rx7 with a soon to be mildly street ported from rotary resurrection. Now its going to be my daily more than likely and i dont really know how far i can push it before it gets unreliable. Should i remove the air pump and the other valve thingy per racing beat for there downpipe and pre-silencer? Also i dont really know with what to go with exhaust wise. I have a buddy that can build the rest of the exhaust after the cat(or lack there of), anyway i dont know what to do and no one out in co ive talked too, knows jack lol. Should i get a full header with 2.5 exhaust all the way back or will that be way too loud? Keep in mind its gonna be a daily but i want it to be pretty quick as well. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated i should be getting my engine ported some time next month. Also what about the 6 ports opening? what do i need to do. Ive read on here of making something custom but will i have to do that only if i remove emissions? LOL HELP ME GUYS(and girls) LOL thanks again, kevin.

I've been kicking around the same question myself, as Kevin is doing a rebuilt/TII swap in my vert very soon.
I had Kevin remove the emissions on my other car, I have no regrets, nice, low tone with a Racing beat muffler/presilencer and the cat hollowed out.
My state is working towards emission testing..that's the only reason I would consider keeping it in.
As for the 5th/6th ports question, Kevin removed the sleeves altogether, making it a 4 port engine. Low end was still fine, great power on upper. Keep in mind this was a GSL-SE 1st gen car, but I imagine the results will be the similar with your car.

Ask Kevin what he thinks, he'll shoot straight with ya, and he's right MOST of the time .

Good Luck!

yah so you'd say downpipe/pre silencer from racing beat? I dont know if i read right but i believe on the rb site it says the header is more for carb or heavily modified fuel injected cars. I guess ill just have to talk to kevin though on the 6 port question. Thanks guys, kevin. Also will i need those blcok off plates? Or can i just make some from sheet metal? thanks again laterz.

wow, um... you can search for the questions and read up on the archives... they both have a LOT of info on all of these questions.

no, it doesn't gain any power from removing these. i'm glad it's gone for me though, it would have just gotten in the way.

there's no such thing as a downpipe for a nonturbo. just get the RB headers and presilencer and you won't have to wire your ports open. you WILL have to wire them if you gut your cat though.
