I know its worth it but how much?
My bosses dad is somewhat of a rotary nut. He have engines and RX's just chilling in his yar/garge (neeless to say I LOVE going over there) waaaaaaaay in the back he has a 1990 RX-7 Turbo he said he bought it new and while he was driving it one day some **** smashed in the to rear end. the whole back half of the car is smashed to bits the diff is actually cracked in half the front is a little banged up but not too bad. most of the inteior and engine bay is striped out there is no ECU, no intake, no radiator basicly a lot is missing on the car. BUT yes the is a but the engine and trans are in great shape with only 23k on them granted they have been sitting for a while but there is no signs of rust or corosin on the enigne itself. He said I can take the engine and trans for $1200 plus he'll get me a wiring harness off another one. My question is (finally) how much "other stuff" will I need to get? like I know I need an ECU and a boost gauge. but what else will a need to run it in my 1991 N/A and how much more do you think I'll need to get it running?
(sorry for the long post)

Your best bet - in my experience - is to find a TII parts car.
You have just found one
See if the guy will part the drivetrain (the answer to your question):
Diff
Half shafts
Drive shaft
You may want to also grab the 4 pot brakes from the front because, ****, why not.
If the diff is indeed cracked/broken when you pull it, deal with that then. But bost of the other bits (half shafts and driveshaft) can be hard to track down as seperate bits without paying through the nose for them.

well its been said time and again, if you're going to go turbo, you're better off just buying a t2. If that engine and tranny are going to cost you 1200 you're already lookin at half the price of a half *** running t2. Needless to say all that other stuff that you're going to need to get it running is going to cost you somewhere around 3000 all together, at least i would think. Anyway if you want to go turbo just find a t2 thats already running or at least missing a couple of cheap fix parts.

He said he'll give me a complete engine and tranny but I need to get everything else I was just wondering what that everything else was

If you want to do it well. I'd say 3500$ if you make no mods.
If you do it fast, 2000$ should cover it.
But I'd be scared to buy an engine off a car that was bought new in 1989-90 and sitting there ever since.
Are you sure the engine is not seized? It has no intake either, you have to buy gaskets, vaccum lines, fuel lines, injectors are probably gone since the intake is. Be sure of what you get into on a tight budget. I started my project with 5000$ in mind....I'm now past 8500$... And still not done.
So 1200$ for an engine with no intake, intercooler, injectors, and so on...and that it has been sitting there for 15 years and sustained a good enough shock to split the diff (means likely damage to the tranny and drive shaft), I think its over priced. You can get a 1.3BT J'spec with tranny, ecu, harness and sensors for 1500$
So why bother?

Got any pics of the rear?
I highly doubt that the diff/half shafts have been blown to bits from a collision. Unless the rear rebar is tucked into the storage bins, you should be ok to at least consider/take a better look at it.
The guy probably just doesn't want to lose a spare TII diff..........I know I'd be the same way

if you plan to fix it, why not spend money on a better TII?
If I were you, I'll look for another one.
I agree too, don't pay for an car that doesnt run more than 1000.
