Just remember, ATF, water, Seafom, ect, were not designed to run in your engine on regular basis. Like with everything, just because it works does not mean that more of it will work better.
i found that to be true with my car.

taken from MSDS..

plus MMO smells like cinnamon!

if they are the same.. why dont you go use MMO in your atomatic transmission. ****.
Why don't you go look up what mineral spirits are... REFINED PETROLEUM OILS.

and I don't have a atomatic transmission on any car... however I do have a couple of cars that have a automatic transmission.

And calling a admin or moderator a **** buys you a ban for a week.

ol really.. so are you saying that because they both have REFINED PETROLEUM OILS then we should not use them in our engines?.. makes alot of sense.. lets see isnt gasoline a refined petroleum product? maybe motor oil? every one stop putting gasoline into your engines! just because they share common ingredients doesnt mean the mmo and atf act the same way in a combustion chamber!

do you understand that MMO IS A GASOLINE ADDATIVE! the company tells you to put it in your gasoline!

ps. please check your PM's. Thanks!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mineral_spirits

Further research on mineral spirits doesn't show that it has any corrosive/rubber dissolving properties.. but thats not to say that MMO/ATF isn't snake-oil.

That will disolves your seals. Hence it's function as a solvent.

Want a trick? Solutes will only disolve in similar solvents. For example the dichlorobenzene will not disolve in water because of it's molecule size which is pretty big compared to water. But It WILL disolve other large organic molecules (like rubber).

thanks for that bit of information.

but your using mmo for that purpose.. as a solvent, to weaken carbon deposits around seals. for the short amount of time that mmo would be in your engine the rubber seals do not make very much contact. my point earlier is that i would recommend mmo over atf or snake **** for that matter.

Have you ever seen the clip on the net 2girls 1cup.... THEY SHOW YOU WHAT TO DO WITH THE CUP! Would you still do it.

There is a lot of companies that come up with product, do lots of "test" to prove their products, and at the end of the day we find out that it just does not work.
MMO has been on the market for a long, long time, and I have used it in the past. I must say that in some instances it worked good, but in some just plain did not.

All those additives contain lubricants and solvents. Again, they are designed for occasional use. For a rubber o-ring 24 hrs in traces of ATF or MMO is nothing, but extended exposure can lead to potential problems...

you do know many other auto make use ATF for power steering. ATF works good as seafoam for a carbon build up treatment. this has been in use since the 50s. Just remember rather then bitching like some hoes wanting the last maxipad. What works for one engine isn't guaranteed to work on another engine. Some mention a solvent with eat away at the seals. Does this include the ceramic and other seals made of different materials ??

product called SEA FOAM. knapa and Pepboys carry it. light blue green "sea foam" colored container, works great. used it on my buddies 84 camaro with 250k and a bad carb. smoked like hell for 20minutes, 8-10 laps around the block but ran like it had 50k on it after. Check out some of the DSM forums people swear by it.

Must be up north, can't find any KNAPA down south....

BTW, SF comes in white container with red writing on it, but it is possible that KNAPA has them in light blue green

I love people with power.. me the man you the ban...
dude its an internet forum, take it easy, no one is going to steal your lunch money anymore, its okay now...
and to then further insult someone because of a typo... c'mon, just cause you are a mod doesn't mean you are a god and perfect, I am sure we could all find something on here that you misspelled or called someone a name...

not trying to defend the guy, but why air your dirty laundry, no one cares but you and him, and I am sure he will figure out why he was banned, hell send him a PM and when his ban is over he will find out why...

and to the OP, if your engine has 5k on it then why are you worried about carbon, that think is just broke in... even with 55k if not rebuilt that is pretty low mileage... sure you are fine... and its just your ocd kickin in... LOL

edit: Or was that 50K after the rebuild + 5K you put on.. not sure if you would be able to tell if it was rebuilt that long ago, unless your odomoter says like 150K and your engine runs like new...
