Unhappy I don't Know what to do?

4 moths ago i bought my rx7 i had been having so much fun with this car . but know everything is going wrong a have a oil leak from the front head gasket or whatever u call and the mechanic said that need a rebuild it. Also everytime i do a stop sign( red light) all my cluster lights go on and a sound goes on from a black box right to the fuse box.

And there is a guy selling me a 91 turbo2 for 4k in perfect conditions, new paint job (3k) and rims but with out the engine he says if i buy a car he put the new engine for free.

so please help me what should i do? try to sell my car or do a turbo2 swap.

Thanks for help I really apreciate you time?

There is no head gasket in a rotary engine, because there are no heads. I would learn a bit more about your engine before even THINKING about buying a turbo.

Sounds like part of your problems is a bad alternator, or other component in the charging system. Not a hard fix at all...Find a reputable rotary builder in your area for a second opinion on the rebuild, since it sounds like you don't know much yet...

If it runs smooth and accelerates well, then you don't need a rebuild - at this time.

Perhaps he was saying that you are leaking oil from the front 'cover?' If so, you can replace the gasket, but it would be a PITA.

As for the Turbo II, I don't see why you shouldn't buy it if you want it. (You can learn about it at time passes. But you should set aside a lot of money in the meantime for the things that go wrong that you don't understand and need a mechanic for.)

What I don't understand is the part about "he is willing to put an engine in the turbo car for you for free if you buy it."

If he is selling the car, and he is willing to put the engine in for you, why isn't he just putting it in anyway for whoever might be willing to buy.

This sounds to me like it might really mean - "you buy it for 4K, I will put in the engine for you for free", but then,
when you get the car, something will come up and he won't have the time to do it and you will be stuck with the cost. Might as well just find one that is complete already.

Well, that's different!

If you are saying that he will put a 20B into a car that you are buying for 4K. Then if you think he is trustworthy, go for it. Although I don't quite see why/how he can do a job for free that others are charging 25-35K for.

If it goes well, let me know and he can do mine too!

No, he meant the guy was goin to put the 20B in the FD. He might've meant that the guy knows what he's doing.

I wouldn't mess with a car that needs a motor swap for the 4K price. I would try to find a clean low mileage for that price. There is a guy selling a '86 N/A with 64k miles right there in New Jersey for $2850. Look it up on autotrader.com

If I were to trade I would rather find a low mileage factory car to start with.

The stop light on, when the brakes are pressed, means you have a burnt out brake light bulb

It's not when a press the brakes. before it used to be only when the idle was around 800 rpm now the car needs to be above 3000 rpm to shut off the dash light.

And this is only the the stop light??? Not all the idiot lights???

Do all the idiot lights come on when you turn the key on without starting the car???

If they don't you need the Clock warning panel rebuilt or replaced.

That indicates your alternator is failing. They should not be on when the engine is running at all.

What voltage is the car at, when idling? Should be 13.5 volts bare min. Anything less and you need a new alternator or to correct major wiring problems.
