HP estimate

Lately, a few ppl hav been asking me my hp level. I don't really have too solid an idea, and tell them around 200 RWHP, which I figure is a little conservative. From my Mod list, what do you guys estimate? I'll find out for sure at the end of the summer, when I have cash.

1990 RX-7 TII
- 3" Downpipe
- K&N Intake
- Street Ported, TB Mod
- Ported and Mirror Polished Intake Manifold
- Plenty of fuel, it's seeing 12:1 A/F, and an FCD
- HI-6 ignition box, spark plugs wires
- E-Fan
- Electric Water Pump
- No P/S, A/C, air pump, cats, any of that ****.
- stock Turbo with ported wastegate, 10 psi
- stock catback (ugg)
(Yes, I had to port the S5 wastegate)

That estimate sound right?

I really doubt that you care what I have to say but, my estimate would be around 230-240 RWHP. With HI-6 ignition and street port I would imagine it pulls good and has a good tourqe curve.

Turn the boost up a little more you could see 260 at the wheels if the porting dosen't make it go lean.

I don't have the injectors for extra boost.

Man, half those mods are probably wasted on that stock cat-back! I doubt you'll be seeing more than your 200rwhp estimate because of it, replace it ASAP!

He will prolly see what, 12 or 14psi with an aftermarket catback. Don't think he has the fuel for that.

Man get some more fuel and add an extra 50 hp

Thats the plan; catback, haltech, injectors, FMIC, all at the same time.
Then comes the larger turbo, then comes the T56.
I was just curious what I had now, and as I figured, my estimate was pretty good I guess.
I was using the catback to limit boost creep, but then just went ahead and ported the wastegate big time when I added the shots of nitrous. I dunno if it was needed to port the S5 wastegate, but with the nitrous on, I'm still seeing some creep, so I guess so.
Like I said, I have PLENTY of fuel, just no injectors. That's how I can run such a huge shot without too much worry.

200RWHP is about right.&nbsp Those stock mufflers are restrictive.&nbsp That translates to about 230hp at the flywheel.

Double post. SOB!
Oh well.
Maybe I can think of something to ask....

How about:
Know any good brands of street clutch discs for a ford tranny?

Beauty.
Thanks Ted, NZ, and Ranz.
Anyone know if removing the air bleeds is advantageous or detrimental to the engine?

TB Mod:
Takes a couple hours since the JB weld has to dry.
I tapped mine and used JB weld, b/c I figured the JB weld would hold a bit better to threads that to smooth metal.

FCD is a fuel cut defender. It eliminates the fuel cut to the rear rotors should you see over 8.6 psi. Of course, you need fuel mods to boost so much over 8.6 , so user beware.

Its exactly the same procedure for porting an S5 car as it is for an S4. I had to do some tricky stuff to get the flapper door to open all the way, but maybe I could take pics... I have an extra S5 turbo lying in the basement.

You got an extra S5? With the wastegate? How much would you want for it?

I have an entire S5 sitting in my basment, including the wastegate.
You probably wouldn't want it. Rear turbine was eaten by an apex seal leaving the engine (previous owner left the turbo with the car).
Two of the teeth are chipped on the edge, and the car had a new stock S5 turbo on it when I bought it, so I never bother to try the old one. Bet the balance would be off.
I can use it to show porting if you wanted, or you could ahve it if you wanted, but I don;t know how well it would work.

You can pull the secondary ones if you want, but KEEP the primary ones.&nbsp The fuel "squirt" at idle from the primaries is exactly that - a "squirt"!&nbsp The air bleed valves under the primaries makes for better atomization of the fuel.&nbsp the car idles really badly if you yank them out!&nbsp For the primaries, the RPM's are already over 3,000RPM, and the secondaries kick in at over 20% pulsewidth, so this is more than enough to atomize the fuel shooting out from them...

Hafta figure out something to allow the flap door to clear the housing, otherwise, you can't get your dremal or die grinder in there.

I think he wanted to know how to port the s4 because he has a s4. He just forgot to mention it or maybe he just picked up a s5 turbo and wastegate but i dont think so.
