How much was your paintjob?

for those of you that had your car painted, how much did it cost you? I need to get my car repainted black and I need to budget myself to afford it.

Pic in sig. Local guy did the work, prepped and painted the ground effects (from a black car), shaved the trunklid emblems and 3rd brakelight, filled in the old antenna hole from where I relocated it for my wing, and smoothed out the dinged up AL hood all for $1200 cash.

Mine cost $500 for paint and supplies, and $200 for my uncle to spray it.

But then again me and my father did all of the prep work, which including complete paint removal and body work. It takes forever to prep a car right.

If I were you, I'd do all of the prep work yourself, then drive it up there and let them spray it, the paint should look better and last longer.

$85 just the cost of the paint all prep work and shoting will be done at a local body/paint shop and it is free!! tho I'm going to put 5n(n5?) on it instead of the saphire blue so it's going to cost $120 for the ppg paint.

Paint

I had my domestic drag car painted by a friend with body shop for $225, looks as good as an 84 monte carlo with a vinyl top can look. The same guy repaired parking lot damage and painted my roomates 91NA 2002lexus white, with a three stage system, its the sheeeooot, Bright white but under a street light has pearl effect, Got it done for $800 on an insurance allowance of $1100, which only included fixing and repainting the fender.

It pays to know someone with a body shop!

so anybody have ideas on how much the price will change if I don't need the engine bay or door jams repainted? I just need a basic black on the exterior. I'm planning on using Maco. Also, does anyone have any comments on Maco's quality?
