Ahhh help: Paintjob or Rims?

Hey guys,

I am torn between getting RIMS (LE37T 18") or a new paintjob. Currently the color I have is Montego BLue. The color is nice and all, but I am getting sick of it. I was thinking about painting it IBM or something close to it. Help me out guys, I dont know what I should do and I'm losing sleep over it hehe. Also, I dont have a bodykit on hand so if I paint it now i have to repaint the bodykit. Just dont know what to do, the price of rims or paintjob are about the same. What would you do?? THanks for reading.

Unless your paint is chipping, get the rims.

I'd say go with the paint. A paint job would go more noticed than the rims IMO. However, a paint job with no rims would look kinda funny. You could always save up a little longer and do both at the same time. tough decision.

I guess Imma go with rims then. Is $2600 for Volk Racing LE37T's a good deal? (nitto 555 tires included) 18x8.5 and 18.9.5's . Are there Rims I could get for a better price? Any suggestions?

Who are you getting the rims from? Rishie? Is so then that probably is a good deal. If you're not already getting them from him then PM ARD T2
. $2600.00 doesn't sound like a bad deal but I don't know much on the pricing of volks.

BTW, I'd say go with the rims too.

If your paint is in good condition then go for rims man. ANY FD with good paint and rims look awesome! The stock body FD can be very becoming if done correctly.

For the $2000+ you're spending on cosmetics, you could be getting a few substantial power mods.

amen!

don't you know that the FD comes with lightweight 16's (plenty big enough)? And it doesn't sound like you need a paint job either. If I were you I'd spend the money on BPU's and an ECU...unless ofcourse...going faster isn't one of your priorities

IMO... keeping ur 7 healthy is better then spending on cosmetics... hahaha... this car already looks nice in standard form... if ur geting 18's then most probably ur going for looks... so if i were u, i would get 17's and save more for a rainy day... just my .02

=( who so many opinions I dont know which way to swing once again. I forgot to mention i have a minor fist size dent in my left front fender. I doesnt bug me thaaat much anymore and I have several small dents and scraps (previous owner didnt take care of the car super well). Anyways, thats another reason why I kinda dont want to get the Rims, becuase with all that money I can get a new exhaust, ecu, radiator and etc. Decisions decisions. I am really persuaded to get rims cuase my roomates got new rims and it made their cars look really good. *sigh* . I know for sure I will be getting a body kit later so I should probably wait on the paintjob right? (cuase it will cost a grip painted seperately and fitted). As for the performance mods, I think since I've saved up so much money I should do that 1 big thing first and add bolts ons when I make more money (should be easier cause they cost much less). I still have time to decide what to do, but come Monday I will need to know. Anymore views on this? Thanks for your suggestions thus far.

I say do at least the reliability mods if you haven't done so already. Then I'd go for some of the basic performance mods and then finally get that dent repaired and the car painted if that's needed. But it all depends on what you want to do with your car obviously. If you want a fast car then do performance first. If you're already pretty happy with the performance of the stock car then go ahead and pay for the show parts. It's really all up to you.

Since i hate dents and dings soo much, i say find a good deal on the paintjob and with the rest of the money get a dp and radiator or something along those lines. I wouldnt worry about rims untill you get that nasty precat out of there

If your car is stock, go for engine mods first.

I have spent all my money so far on go fast parts and have left my stock body and rims alone. I want to do body work to it but not until I at least break into the 11.5's or faster. My single will be going on in November, then I will concern myself with looks. That is my opinion. I too have a few small dents and scrapes but it really depends on you. But if you are torn between rims and paint. I would say rims, since you want a body kit laster anyways, why spend the money twice? Maybe just touchup the rougher areas and leave it at that.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions and help.

Currently, my mods are:
Downpipe, Intake, Coilovers

Getting real soon:
Aluminum AST
Guages

What reliability mods am i missing? New Radiator? I am satisfied with the speed of my car now. Also, whats troubling me is that I dont know what exhaust to go with and then I have to replace ECU and so forth. I was waiting until sevenstock to hear the different types of exhausts, and see different types and colors of paint. So many things to consider, but I figured since I have so much money saved up, I may as well buy a big thing first, becuase the little things will be easier to upgrade as I accumulate more money. Does this sound reasonable?

I kinda of want to get rid of that ugly dent and repaint my car, but I figure that I am going to get a bodykit, and I'll be wasting more money if I just paint my car and then add a bodykit later.

Any more inputs on what I should do? Thanks a lot guys.
