How Much To Pay
It depends on what condition the rest of the car is in, body, tires, brakesystem, interior, etc. Also, how much you have to spend for the rebuild. You'll almost certainly need a new rotor and housing in the rear, which might not be that hard to find. IIRC, s4 cars usually lose the front rotor. You'll also need a new turbo. Although people will tell you it can be done for less, I'd prepare to spend 5000$ getting it on the road. The rebuild, turbo, and install will probably cost 3k, plus whatever else might go wrong and a little extra to get it in to shape for inspection, if yours is anything like Maryland's.
If the body and interior are superb, I'd pay up to $800 or so. If you feel like taking the risk, you can get a J-Spec engine for $900 and have a running turbo FC for under two grand.
$200 US sounds fair if it comes with trans
if the whole car comes wiht it.. hmm
$800 for an s4 and $1200 for an s5
and $5k to get it on the road is insane.. I got mine on the road for $1500 CDN /$1000 US
