my friends 86 gxl does'nt idle it goes to about 1100 and then drops to quit, I'm a 1st gen guy hoping to learn a lot more about 2nd's. and also are the 86 gxl's any good and how much power do they have.

The obvious one will be.. major vacuum leak?

 

i have same problem, vaccum leak is the answer, if you hold the throttle a bit to keep it running you'll hear the vaccum leak
