It is possible to over fill the engine with oil. The amount you show that you over filled isn't bad. If you are concerned about it, pull the oil filter and drain it, that should get you back down to the fill line or under it.

your engine will eat apex seals, blow the oil seals, and then blow up into a million pieces and then you will have a rod knock which would make yoru cam drop a valve because the throttle body would be stuck opena dn then yoru carb jets will fall in adn you will shoot flames
yes you can put too much, YOU put too much in, so you can.... right?

best to fill up to spec. Adding more oil will undoubtedly change the overall pressure or the system. although, having a bit too much in probably won't do much since it will burn after awhile anyway.
1quart/500 miles is not good. it should be about half that (1quart/1000 miles). Your engine is burning way too much...

In a conventional engine overfilling the oil will cause it to foam up and not work as well. Our engines can be overfilled a bit and it's okay. In fact if you're going to do something where a baffle would be benificial, overfilling a bit can prevent oil deprevation.
