it had just under 200k when i bought it for 1700 bux. it had a high 1500rpm idle, and the 3800 bog was prevalent. the guy that sold it to me told me it had a rough idle and he messed with some of the screws on the throttle to get it to idle smoothly at 1500 rpm. he also knocked out the rosin in the hole for the air mix screw on the flapper air meter. what a jack ***,
all it would have taken to fix the idle prob was some new plugs and a fuel filter,
but nooooooo, it took 2 days of adjusting and readjusting, and some slight adjustments to the flapper for the next month and a half to get her runnin good.
trouble free eversince!
my 1st seven had 260k + on it my friend gave it to me cause he got a new car . the brakes were locked up but with in a hour of me having it i drove it back to his house
it was wrecked in the rear so after 6 months or so i bought another shell for 400 and put the that motor into the shell. sold it for 600 and bought my current one for 550 with 60k on the motor and tranny . the kid i sold it to is still driving it daliy. and it was a na motor may i add

a local guy had about 210k iirc on his s4 n/a, but started having overheating problems that he couldnt figure out. he ended up parting it out after that. my guess is the internal coolant passages just got too clogged up
Some impressive stuff! I got a rolling n/a chassis with 132k on it with a blown motor, but the previous owner was a complete moron. He didn't really know the car or cars in general that well. Shows that despite these motors blowing up every 6months/10k miles
that they can last for quite a long time taken care of.

my 200k plus mila rx7 that first had was at 178k miles. i never changed the oil in it. i alswase simply added oil cus i would alwase rape the **** out of it so afte rlike 2 months or so, i added more oil. anyways, i gacve it to a buddy of mine who said that she just spun the clock over 200k miles. lets just say i hadnt changed the oil in about 15k miles. lol. it was an 86 though. and i raped it to hell.
don't know if its the original motor or not but i have 245,465 on my 87 gxl na. just getting the 3800 rpm hickup. but after taxes she is gonna get the whole tune up and a whole RB true dual exhaust..

. I have yet to sit in another 2nd gen with a smoother idle though...
