Force it. The **** unscrews counter-clockwise when looking down at it. The trick is getting it line up correctly when you go to put it back on. No matter how many times I unthread it and try to start it again, it always ends up with the numbers pointing toward the passenger seat instead of straight ahead.

Na man, damn near everything on the planet is lefty-loosy (looking down at the shift ****, rotate it left is loosening it) and righty tighty (rotating it right, or clockwise, is tightening it).

hrmm what is this nut you people speak of on the S4 also if I somehow dont have that could that be reason it rattles all the time upon acceleration??

---and Im pretty sure I dont have a nut there cause I have taken off my shift **** countless times out of anger and then put it back on when my hand hurt from shifting without it....

quick simple related question, not a thread jack =)
