I dont pre-mix. I dont drive alot (but I do drive alot in 4k +rpms I have had my car since 8-21-06 maybe put 1000-1500 miles max on the car and I am down about 1/4 qt and this engien is very clean and from what I remember last time I was under it dont seem to la a drop.

but I am just curious if u can tell me is there a way to tell if the cars OMP is working good or not?

easy way. replace the lines. they will be nmice and clean and clear. after a while you should start seeing oil pimping in there.

on an s4, they arent prone to failing. they are mechanichal, unlike the s5 that are electrical.

anyways, im sure your omp is working correctly.

You go to the online and free FSM. You read the Lubrication section. It tells you to undo the front two banjo bolts that hold the oil lines on the OMP.

You start the engine and hold it at two grand for five minutes, at the same time catching the oil coming from the OMP in a measuring cup. At the end of five minutes you see how much oil your container has in it. Compare that to the figures given in the free, online FSM

If you check the Haynes manual or FSM (see FAQ) then there are testing procedures for the metering oil pump. The test involves disconnecting two lines and then measuring flow over a time period.

Won't work... the S5 is electrical and sends feedback to the ECU. If you don't get that feedback, the car will go into limp mode.

The mechanical pump has a two foot metal rod that connects to its lever on one end of the rod and at the other end of the rod it connects to the throttle lever.

S5 do not have the fitting on their throttle lever for the OMP rod.
