so i have this xtra motor here at the house and ive decided its going to be my genny pig on learning how to port....ive never ported nothing before so its going to be my first time...just wanted to see if any body has done some engine porting and has a few tips they can give me..also what is the best piece of machinery to use?i know that racing beat sales templetes so i plan to use that as a guide....also if anybody knows of any sites that has a few how to's..ive searched and all i could really find is just info on the diffrent porting but not how to do it

Start with a Dremel.
The smaller tool size will help you with control.
Use "stones" first to get an idea of what you're doing.
Once you feel comfortable, step up to carbide burrs which will give you more aggressive grinding.
If you feel the Dremel is too slow, you can step up to a 1/4" grinder - air or electrical.

i would like to know cause i have a blown 88 13b that i would like to port my self but i woul like to know if anyone has a step by step type of directions to do it thanks.

 

i would like to know, as my car's engine is on an engine stand waiting to be rebuilt
