I will get a lawyer if its not to late I go to court thursday morn I am in the navy so I will already have an officer there with me to tell them how much they need me and stuff.

Thanks for the advice in PA where I am from a reckless is 25+ over and you almost never have to go to court unless you plead not guilty you jsut pay the fine. That is where I have most of my tickets and there all off my driving record now the only thing that is on there is the two speedings and a reckless from this state oh yeah and a DUI.

Ok, seeing as I am in the Navy, I will give you a piece of advice... Let your CMC know. That's what Master Chiefs are there for. Go to court, take your LPO or LCPO with you. That's what they are there for. Then, fight the ticket. See if the cop even shows up. If he doesn't, it gets thrown out. If he does show up, then it's up to you to convince the judge that you are right and he's wrong. Don't call him a liar, don't lose your temper, just admit that yes, you were speeding, but it was 70, not 75. By the way, one really easy way to throw your speedometer off is just to take your gauges out, take the cover off, and "twist" the needle down a bit... Force it past it's range, and it will drop a bit. But, just to reiterate, let your command know.

You have probably already thought of this, but after you get this settled and if the military will let you, I would suggest to MOVE OUT OF THAT STATE!!! What a bunch of BS

wish I could but I have 1 1/2 years left at my present command. I will be trying to get back in CA when I am up for orders. Trust me I didnt get to pick this state. If it was up to me I would just love to every last one of the cops here because for some reason the hate navy guys here

On my two RX-7s (91 and 86) if the speed says 55 I am doing more like 50 and it gets worse from there. 70 is like truely 63.

It is accurate to about 40 and then it is off. I verified this using my garmin 295 gps. Proballly had an EPE of 12-15 feet.

James

Get a friend with a GPS to verify your speed. Then get it calibrated.

Also, do a search on the internet for filing continuances. also, learn about a Motion of Discovery. These two things can help your greatly.

Again

James

Ask to see the documents on the officers Radar Gun calibration.

If his last calibration has expired you get out of the ticket. Those records, FYI, are publicly available to all.

well, my GRANDPA had this happen to him... in an RX-2 out of all things.

He took it to court, and the judge said somthing to the tune of, "Its up to you to make sure your vehicle is working properly" He had to pay the full ticket.

But nowadays with radar guns theres a huge number of technicalities you can pull just to get out of anything.
