How bad is it?
I took the car out for a ride yesterday and i was getting on it a little bit. I caught a light and when i took of in first gear after the car reved to about 4k rpms the car started to hesitate really bad and the motor was shaking reaaly bad. I got the car home having to keep it under 4k rpm and let it sit for a minute. Turned thge car back on and when you reve it past 4k the motore shakes like crazy and the rpms start to break up nasty. Anyone have any ideas? Mind you the car was running fine before this happend.
MODS: Street ported motor, stock S4 turbo, rtek 1.7 , FMIC, 720 secondaries, Aeromotive FPR, walbro fuel pump, and the car was at about 10 psi, just incase it helps.

check your spark. my friends car had the same exact problem. We checked all the spark plugs and one of the wires wasnt making good(if any) contact. threw a new wire on there, fixed the problem.

i went to the supermarket and it was running fine. left the supermarket and it was a nice straight away so i did admit i got on it and got it up to about 95mph and than i caught the light. when i took of from the light and got to 4k rpm thats when all the stutering started. When i got home and popped the hood i rev the car up and noticed when you got past 4k the motor was shaking nasty. looked at the motor mount just in case but they are fine. Could i have broken an apex seal or spring or something like that?
That's what I was about to say, if it runs fine up to 4k rpms then just starts shuddering it sounds like it's not getting fuel or is getting too much, but it would smoke if it was having too much.
Check the obvious things first, like the spark plugs. I'd look there after I checked the ignition wires. Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. Trailing plug was fouled and worn. Put all new plugs in and it was fine.

I thought it was 88 MPH and 95 is a little to fast on a public street but its fun to let the 7 loose once in a while.
listen to the peoples advice here. do a comp check and then get back to us. if it has low comp then it is going to have to come apart. i dont think it is the internals but i could be very wrong. i would think your having problems with the injectors.

sumthing like this happened to me and what happened was , when i stopped at the light, it caused my battery to fall and hit the CAS so i knocked off timing, then whenevr i would get up to aroun 4k the car hesitated real bad, so chek ur CAS and make sure its near the middle ( at least thats where mine went)
