Hot again...

Ok, my car started running real hot again. It cools off once I get up to 90 or so but otherwise it just goes all the way up. SO you know I have changed the radiator cap, thermostat, flushed the coolant, checked the clutch fan & chaged the water pump. The overflow is also empty. Any ideas for a fix?

I put some in the overflow before but its gone now. I think it stopped running hot once again. It has done this before, it will run hot for a little bit then run perfect again. Only thing I ca relate to this is that it happens after I take off my intake to do something. Doesn't the ECU adjust to modicifations some? I don't know, its all better now.

When you flushed your coolant, did you wait for your thermostat to open up and let the freash water in the engine, then did you fill up your radiator?
If it runs hot for just a little bit but then cool's down sound like you don't have enough water in the coolant systerm.

the ecu has nothing to do with the temps. if your overflow is going down then you either have a leak or air pocket, fill the overflow, take off your rad cap, turn your heater on full, and start the car and let it run for 20 mins or so, keep filling the rad as it goes down. cause it will.

when you put the "coolant" in, you used 1/2 water and 1/2 antifreeze right?...

Had a similar problem....thought for sure I had all air out of the system but turned out that it had air in it. Once all the air was out all is well.

I really am stumped. Ok, my car started running hot once again. Now the battery is dead. Brand new battery & terminals as well. Brand new alternator. Jump start it and the battery goes right back down & won't restart. When I drove it I it lost charge slowly then sometimes it would jump way up to normal on its own & drop right back down. So now, my car runs hot...has a dead battery...and oh ya, now I have a flat tire to go along with it all. Its sitting at a gas station now. Man I have the worst luck. Going to have to drive my ::cough cough:: camaro now. As soon as the insurance company puts a new engine in it. Man I am up a **** creek without a paddle
