It's a heater hose.

Unless that extra hose is brand new, don't bother. The part at the dealer is something like $30 and any used hose will be worn.

that doesnt even look like its heater hose, that looks like big vacuum hose...which usually isnt strong enough for the pressures of the cooling

I still wouldn't take it. That's not a Mazda hose and is missing the extra protection on the areas that rub. It will wear through where it touches the firewall and oil filter.

Seriously, I'm crazy about this particular hose because it's left me at the side of the road three times. Finally I went and bought some uber-expensive $78 per foot silicone hose and clamped it down with T-bolt clamps.

so your saying even though its FREE you would rather spend $78 on a per foot hose?? must be nice to have money!!! im not that rich and i would take it even if it lasted me a FEW years.

To me, it's worth far more then $78 per foot not to be stuck in the middle of nowhere at the side of the road for a few hours... But to each his own.
