The rated "peak" hp is usually a far cry from the actual power the unit produces. This is one of the reasons many suppliers of air compressors, for example, give the manufactuer's claimed hp and an "real horsepower" rating.

had no clue that rx7s were equipped with ball bearing turbos. Or most any stock turbo for that matter.

I just watched the video...Scary...That can't be good for the bearings, regardless of heat. I doubt there's enough oil in there to keep an oil film in place...so you're probably close to running metal on metal.
