find the end and a nice pair of vise grips, grab ahold of the steel braid and pull, then when your done pin you hood,no nead for the cable.
Unfortunately it seems to have broken at the latch so I don't think there is any wire left to pull. I just bought this as a project car and obviously have to get under the hood to get it running.
Actually man fit your arm through the front bumper and reach around till you feel a cable once your there move your arm to the left following the cable and youll get to the wire and a **** push the **** to the right and you will open the hood
old topic I'm sorry but I appear to be in the same situation with my car. The hood is stuck in the locked position and I can't seem to get the hood up no matter what I try to pull on. Any more ideas on how to open the hood? :P

if you can ..get under the Front of the car..With a flashlight..I don't have the car with me so I am Gonna Guess(hood latch in front of me though)..if you can see where the cable goes..put a Large screwdriver between the little eye where the cable holds onto the latch and the Middle of the latch...and move the screw driver handle towards the Passenger side..Hopefully that will Pop the Hood to the Safety Position..If you can't get at the Tongue of the latch now by Reaching Under Like you normally Do..Look again Under the car at the latch..Ther ia a Big Round Piece of rubber on the Passenger side of the Latch.Try and Put a Loop of wire,or something strong around that Black Rubber round Stopper thingie and PULL straight Down.it should Release..I havn't encountered a Sticking Hood.so I have no idea if the hood latch Is Visible From Under the Front of the car..But IF IT IS..this Hopefully will help..Good Luck.
I just finished fixing this tonight. Took way longer than I thought it would but I wanted to post up that it was doable with basic hand tools and the car driven up on ramps.
Getting the hood open is not that bad, you have to take of the under engine plastic tray and then you can access the latch from below. In my case I could pop the broken cable back in place and it would get the hood open once or twice before popping out again. This was enough to just get the hood open.
Getting the firewall grommet loose was the next hardest thing, I used a pair of flathead screwdrivers to pry the top edge of the grommet out of the firewall enough to be able to grab it and unseat it. I just tugged on the T-handle for the broken cable really hard to get the old cable out of the grommet hardest part of the entire install was fishing the new wire through the firewall grommet and then getting the grommet back in the firewall.
last step is to unhook your battery tie down and tilt your battery back toward the back of the car and thread the new cable into a circular hole just above a long oval cutout in front of the battery where the battery is vented.
