if you want flames get an eclipse, they throw fire like a ****

sorry, just had to. The **** is rich/lean at idel screw, don't think it will do to much for you other than mess with your idel. If you want to be barking flames, upgrade your fuel system (pump, injectors, S-AFC) and remove your cats.

The manifold is killing your flames. You need a header to really throw some sick flames!!

A Racing Beat header and presilencer will be more free flowing, and allow for better flames. You are running rich enough, as I see you have "upgraded injectors."

My car, and before I broke it, it shot flames like mad.

The VDI, Variable Dymanic Intake, is a little plate in the middle intake manifold. It is closed in low RPMs so as to add backpressure, and it opens at about 5500 RPM (if I remember right from dyno slips I have seen) Ask a guy here named "von" to send ya pics on how to. It will cut low end torque, but it will add high end pull.

My car is running the stock manifold, with full racing beat turbo back exhaust. Shoot flames on demand. Best in 3rd gear going around 6.5k-7k RPM. Blip throttle and 1 foot flames shoot out...

So you don't need headers...

Keep the VDI working. Low end sucks without it. Same with 6-ports. To make more flames, set the idle dash pot out just a little more. It will keep the TPS from seeing idle & cutting fuel too soon to make a good afterburn. Just don't tell the ricers how you did it.

Do N/A RX7s throw flame too? I thought only turbos could because the turbo retains heat from the exhaust and we all know how that goes...

AREITU: most of the flame throwing posts have come from people driving N/A's... of the 7 odd people that posted, 5 of them are N/A's and 2 I don't know...
