You have a non turbo motor in the car unless it was swapped previously, i assume it says 13b injection on the dynamic chamber right?

BTW that would be your oil seals causing the smoke

What is your VIN?
US-spec 1986 FC turbos are somewhat rare...

We have no idea whether or not it will work since you have not provided any information other then the fact that "it's different". How about posting some pictures, a description of the differences, etc.?

Some suggestions:

Post your VIN#
Post pictures of the engine in your car and the engine you bought

That will help greatly.

Since you like to claim it's legit, why not tell us what the VIN is?

vin JM1FC3328H0141216 i cant get the pics to load but some of the issues are the original wiring harness dosent unplug ill have to unplug each wire from every plug in order to remove the motor the oil sending unit is in a differnt location . the motor i got the main wiring harness unplugs at the side of the motor so the harness stays with the motor

Turbo VIN, yes.
1986 model? No.

The "H" code in the VIN means it's a 1987 vehicle.
If your title / reg / paperwork states it's a 1986 model, it's a mistake.

We really need pics to really see whats going on. Maybe the engine you bought was a S5? The engine in your car should be a 13BT also. Unless someone put a 6 port NA in a turbo model??

Seriously, who cares if it's an '86 or an '87? The original poster needs help with a wiring problem, not the year of his car...

The oil sending units in all the 2nd gens (and all the 1st gens, and all other Mazda rotaries...) are in the same spot under the oil filter. It would REALLY help if you post pictures of the two engines because with the minimal description you are providing, it's impossible to know what you're seeing...

I was actually more interested in the VIN to determine if the car was a Turbo II or a turbo swap. Considering the OP isn't really too sure of what he's got on his hands, it's helpful information to have.
