help on pulsation damper mod
i know there is a pulsation damper mod that requires some earls banjo fittings but i can't find the website. You need zenki fuel rails and it makes them virtually fire hazard free.
can somebody help, i've searched for 30 minutes!

S5 rails will not cut it. Search this forum for 'pulsation damper' or pd failure or something.
My S5 had it's PD go out not to long ago. I have a multi-page thread about it somewhere in this forum, you can search for it. NO CAR is safe from PD failure. The only way to prevent it is find any way you can to seal that ****** up.

Super Newbie
S5 dampeners can still fail. I only use one cause I fucked my S4 one up when I tapped it for a fitting.

I've been digging around, and Summit Racing offers JUST THE BANJO BOLT, which is an Earls part number 997591.
I punched in part number "EAR-997591", and it's priced at $7.99 each.
I know people were buying the banjo bolt AND banjo double fitting, which is the Earls part number 807991, but you're wasting money with the extra parts. Summit price for EAR-997591 is $26.39 (it's currently on back-order). What is good enough this part is that is comes with two aluminum crush washers, which you actually need.
You can get the fuel rail (copper) crush washers from the Mazda dealer.

I know this has been asked before, but I haven't seen anyone answer who has done the Banjo bolt mod.
Is there any adverse affects from using a Banjo Bolt instead of a Pulsation Damper? It is supposed to damper the pulsing from the fuel pump. So I'm wondering if not having it will damage anything or if it runs poorly. Do you need to upgrade your fuel pump?

the PD helps keep "dry spots" from occuring in the fuel rails due to the constant clicking of the the injectors. many people have said they experienced no adverse affects with the banjo bolt mod. theoretically these "dry spots" (low pressure waves in the fuel) can cause an injector to open but not fire enough fuel. this of course can cause pinging. again this is all theoretical and i doubt that a street use engine would experience much trouble with this. high boost, high performance engines would suffer from this more but they do not run stock fuel pressure so it makes up for it.
all in all, having the PD there is better (it IS there for a reason) but you will prolly not see many problems (if any at all)
to do this you will need to take the upper intake manifold off, grab a crescent wrench and unscrew the PD. take the banjo bolt and screw it back on. (It is pretty much self explanatory once the intake is removed)

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
I run with no PD on my car, with no problems. I know others who I have done this for, and they have no problems...turbo or NA.
NOw, this business of ordering banjo bolts is bullshit, plain and simple. Find yourself a core motor, spare fuel rail or whatever. Take the banjo bolt out of the opposite end of it, and put it in place of hte PD. IT is a direct replacement. Examine the primary rail closely...both ends are the same, both threads are the same. Duh!
