No profanity in thread titles.

If you want help, make the most clear title you can.

Such as instead of "help me god dammit" why didn't you put in, " My Oil gauge is not working correctly".

Cursing and posts without a real title will get very little response.

In addition your multiple bumps have been deleted by another moderator. Bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section. Why do you think you are any more important than anyone else asking a question? And frankly a bump every half hour in the hours between 1:50am and 2:30am, makes you look rather immature.

As ilike2eatricers said, you probably have a grounded oil sender wire or you have a busted off or missing condenser and the sender has failed.

You just grounded your oil pressure gauge. If you are lucky you have not burnt the gauge all up. Disconnect that wire before you turn the key on again. If you have burnt the gauge you will need to replace it as well.

The condenser (little black box) is required for the oil pressure gauge to work correctly. The tab of the condenser must be grounded while the wire must still go into the condenser. The condenser tab normally mounts to the tranny on or near the clutch slave cyl.

You can not just ground wires. Not all black wires are ground. You need to know what you are hooking up before you you do it.

Most electrical Gremlins sit behind the steering wheel when the car is moving.

any suggestions
Yeah, pick up some common sense to use while working on your car.

The little black condenser box on mine just bolts to the firewall on mine IIRC, or maybe to the brake master cylinder mounting bolt. I would try that before concluding that the stock gauge is bad.

well wouldnt that be grounding it then???? thats where i grounded it to, the firewall

i thought its not a ground, wouldnt it go somewhere around the oil pan???

P.S. i did use common sense, thats why i didnt leave it hanging under my transmission, thats why im trying to figure out where it goes now by asking people who know more about these things.. thats using common sense... and i guess its bad practice to assume that all black wires are grounds

depending on the year of the car, the oil sender condenser is grounded at different places... what year is your car?

you have that 87? the oil sender condenser (the black box thing) goes on the negative starter solenoid. i would go ahead and buy a new one at mazdatirx for like 12 bucks.

I doesn't matter where the oil pressure sender condenser is grounded, as long as it is grounded.

Yeah, and very old thread...
