Using Seafoam In An Rx-7
hey guys i was curious about how to put seafoam in a rotary. the video on the website says to put it in like 5 different places but it was on a piston engine. how would you do this on a rotary. HELP!
1/3 in the gas 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in a main vacume line run for 5 minutes then turn it off let the car sit for about 5 minutes and than run for 30... a lot of smoke is gonna come out when you run it... after that you need to do an oil change... some people will say its bad for rotary but i dyno'd at 150 seafoamed and than dyno'd at 200 so yeah... its your own risk i guess but it made a difference for me
theres like 25 different threads about this. A search will definitely yield results.
But, from what I've read, the only real useful spot for it is in the gas tank, unless you like burning off half the money you spent on the seafoam funning it through a vaccum hose, and changing your oil shortly after.
I guess in theory if you put it in your gas tank the injectors should spray it through the intake tunnels and whatnot cleaning all that mess up.

50 horsepower man? **BULLS**T** cough cough, usually when i seafoam i run it through the main vaccuum line and put one in the gas tank, usually i get increased throttle response, better gas mileage, the engine feels like it has more pazazz through the seat in the pants feeling, i do it once a month along with my oil change, it doesnt smoke as much now since i first used it(im sure you know that your car smokes out the *** when running it through the vaccuum line) hope this helps!!

I am a seafoam fan and all, but chevrolette sells this stuff aptly named "upper engine cleaner". It works REALLY well at fogging out cats. I have an old beater 95 camry with a clogged manifuld converter so the ODB II MIL stays on all the time. Before inspection, I run that stuff through and then reset the ECU. Not only do i pass inspection but the light doesn't come on for 4 months afterward. I have tested it without the cleaner and the MIL comes back on after 30 minutes. I tried this with seafoam and it didn't do anything either. it was about the same as running nothing.
I usually add seafoam to the gas tank, but it does work to clean carbon off when put through the vacuum line as well. I would however recommend anybody to try that stuff from the chevy house.
