help with idle
hey everyone. i need help getting my idle to stay at 900 to 100 rpm in my 88t2. please dont tell me to check the tps because i already have. im reading 1 on idle and a smooth increase up to 4. i can get the idle to stay perfect at idle but as soon i step on the gas a little the idle starts pulseing between 1000 and 1500 rpm's. after the pulsing the idle will get back down to 1000 in about 1 to 2 mins. i have all the emmisions stuff gone but left my bac there for idle control. my motor has a landers turbo port. i say this because i have heard that can cause the idle to pulse. thanks for the help in advance.

seriously, I have an idle issue too with my TII, same pulsing idle, only mine idles high then starts to pulsate as it warms up... There have been sooo many posts about bouncing idles/ idle problems lately it's carzy, the first thing i did was check my TPS and then replace/adjust a new one and it made no difference. It's just crazy that there are so many people with almost the same problem and I never really see anyone fi the idle issue on here....... i dunno, i'm selling my N/A so I can afford to maintain my TII.......

man so many ppl all of a sudden are having idle problems. im doing the same thing. my car was flooded for 2 days and finally after blood and tears and is running. not the same though. my idle goes below 1000rpm when im at a complete stop. and goes so far down it almost stalls on its own but goes back up rapidly. why? does anyone know?

damn...mine would idle at about .2! then i swapped in a TPS and adjusted it but it would die every time that i let off the gas. i adjusted the throttle stops and found that the throttle cable was way loose so i adjusted it and it finally idled for a few minutes. every once in a while when i go from a high RPM then clutch it will drop and die. now i have a 2500 rpm hesitation......damn this sucks...mine is also an s4 TII

no seriously tho if you think it is a vac leak get a can of starter fluild spray around the intake gaskets and the vac lines while the car is running. If you notice the idle rise up and smooth out for a second or two you have narrowed the leak down to a specific area. If that does not work for you, go to auto zone and in the help section you will find vac plugs buy a set. Then unplug each vac line one at a time to see if you can isolate the leak that way

I just took my car to the dealer. I tried everything I could think of to fix my idling problem and nothing. I replaced spark plugs and then made sure all vac lines were connected. Damn thing doesn't want to run. It'll turn on but I have to crank like a moillion times for it to finally turn over and when it does....if I let it idle more that 10 min it slowly idles at lower and lower RPM until it finally dies...
I just couldn't handle it anymore and got so frustrated I towed it to the dealer and said "Fix it and get back to me when you do"
