First make sure that your shifter hasn't came loose, second is it in any gear at all? Like if you were to starter the car and let the clutch out? If it only goes in to reverse. If is only stuck in reverse there is a fix for. Miata has the same issure so you can fix the fix for it online. It involves with remove the reverse switch and pulling the shift shaft back to a netural position. Good luck!

Also, you may want to drain the oil from the shifter housing, remove the shifter, clean out the housing thouroughly w/ carb cleaner put it back together and give it another try. just my .02.

alrite for some good reason my shifter now moves and goes into all gears (yah weird)...i live here in alaska and its pretty cold here and my car was sitting out in the cold but when i let it in the garage for a whole nite...i checked out the shifter and now it works so i what im going to do is just drain the tranny fluid out and put in some new ones since i think i was little in tranny oil anyways do to my recent swap...

it was Too Cold to shift..(my Opinion)..I am in Ontario,Canada..YOu really get to Notice some Funky stuff when you Have a car in Cold weather..TuRbo Engines Go like a Chicken On Speed..and Manual transmission Shift Like Granny's Hip in the Morning!..Chcek into your Trans fluid.See what type you can run,As Thin as possible, but yet have the "protection" that it won't screw up your Gears. The cold will turn the Gaer oil to Maple SYRUP.Thick like Caramel..So that is Most likely Why you couldn't shift your Transmission.(my .02 cents anyhow)
