Headers too ricey?

I've gone through several stages with my car. Wanting to turbo it, supercharge it, carbuerate it, twin turbo charge it with 2 T-25 turbos... everything.. And when I finally got enough money to do one of those, I went and bought a motorcycle instead. So now I'm wanting to finish modding my car and I'm thinking of just getting a header for it, and maybe some strut tower bars and sway bars. But I'm not sure if I want a REALLY loud car even if it sounds good, if my car is gonna be slow as hell. As it is now (see sig), I cant even take an Integra GSR. I imagine with headers I'd be able to match one or sneak by. What do you guys think? Loud car (headers, no presilencer to an N1 single) thats slow = rice or not?

NOS? Then I'd really feel like a ricer. Considering I'd always have an empty bottle.. ***** expensive and I want a car thats ALWAYS fast.. Not just when its on a limited supply of boost.. NOS is ghey..

Try an RB downpipe. Very nice, deep tone, gets rid of the chainsaw sound, and adds 90% of a header's hp.

Next, how about some lightening? It's free, and will improve your straight-line acceleration and handling, all in one shot. Get rid of carpeting, sound deadening material, A/C, P/S, seats, passengers, comfort - err...

...and NOS isn't ricey at all. If it's got any sort of negative connotation, it's that it's "for the domestics". Just because it was in TF&F doesn't make it rice And Viper Systems (or something like that) makes an always-on NOS system that's uber-schweet. They had an article in SCC a while back that I could dig up if you really wanted me to called "Nitrous for Road Racing". It's effect is like a supercharger that you have to refill

Headers aren't ricey. It's a legitimate performance mod. Strut tower brace OTOH... Put your money into a good set of shocks, don't f' with the swaybars or an STB unless you've got good shocks in already.

Headers are one of the least ricey mods I think cause they actually cost some serious change. Unlike lowering springs or just a muffler or lots of stickers.

If you got the chainsaw sound as you call it, it means your engine is breathing correctly or at least is on the right track so to speak

Well, I've already got a "down pipe" as you called it, though its from rx7.com and they call it a "race pipe". So I'm having a hard time justifying buying an expensive header system since I doubt it'll give me much more power than I' currently have. And BTW, I already have good springs and shocks, so thats why STB and Sway bars are my next suspension upgrade. So anyway... short of porting my motor or turboing it, its gonna be slow... Its just a matter of HOW slow I'm willing to let it be. I just want a car fast enough to pass a Porsche Boxter at Mid-Ohio when I go to the track with the Porsche club this summer. Oh well...

Oh, hey, that's easy!

Just carry more speed through the turns

i know exactly how you feel. i just went through the exact same thing. with out porint your car will always be slow. If i was you i would not get the headers. you *might* drop a tenth of your 1/4 mile time. defitnly not worth it. i finaly decided to get rid of my car. i bought a turbo eclipse, boost rocks, but the car just doenst feel the same. i would try to sell yoru car and buy a t2 if i was you. i tried to find a t2 but couldnt find one in my area in my price range
