Headers r way too loud!!!

I put some cheap pasesetter headers on my s4 n/a. They r manking a little more power and better mpg than the stock exhaust but they are way too loud. I was just wondering if the silencers from Mazdatrix would make a difference and i wanted to put a aftermarket cat back on it if i decide to put a silencer on does anyone know what cat i can us that would work. Oh by the way i have the Borola exhaust mufflers

You didn't get them with that "black coated" material did you?

Actually - Pacesetter headers are dyno proven to LOOSE horsepower :-)

Yay!

What catback do you have? If its stock, then you aren't going to find much thats quiter. I'm not familiar with how the pacesetter header works, so how does it connect? Does it bolt up to the stock cat, or do you have a straight pipe in its place, or what? If you have just the header then a straight pipe then the cats, you need go get something inbetween the two to muffle the sound. Many have used either Magnaflow mufflers or Borla XR-1's to quiet their system down. You basically just get a universal and make it fit inbetween the header and catback, I think.

I would also toss that Pacesetter and get a Racing Beat of other quality header. It's really worth it to get a good one for the better performance, longevity and sound quality.
I used to think you couldn't get quieter than stock mufflers. Then I ran my current setup with stock TII mufflers and it was...just a little too loud (95-100db). I switched to a set of Racing Beat mufflers and now my car is a fair bit quieter (89-94db) and sounds a lot nicer.
It seems that the stock exhaust manifold is pretty good at canceling high-frequency noise and a header is pretty good at amplifying it. Since the stock (resonator) mufflers do a better job of damping low-frequency noise than high-frequency noise, they tend to let out an annoying, brassy tone with a header. Glasspack-style absorption mufflers (such as the Racing Beat mufflers) are very good at absorbing high-frequency noise, but tend to let more low-frequency noise through which gives a generally more pleasant tone.
Anyway, just my $0.02 FWIW.

Yay!

Assuming you mean that pacesetter headers reduce the horsepower output, can you provide dyno's or other links to confirm this statement?

I think it is important to know some specific details about this issue.

Thanks!

Interesting. It does make sense what you said about it the noise pitch, though, now that I think about it.

I put the Pacesetter full system on my GTU a few years back. I agree, Pacesetter is the suck. I was in a cash pinch when I put it on. And as an added note, the whole system is pretty rusted now. RB is the $#!T.
