I'd like to purchase new headers for my vehicle 1988 GXL NA, and I have the HKS Sport Exhaust already on there with the stock cat. Alright, what would you guys recommend? Any input would be much appreciated!

mind train is the best you can get for the rx, dont know how much they are, also racing beat is good, if you dont have much to spend go with the black pace setter header, it runs 115-120bucks, not great quality but it works

 

Thanks a lot for the reply! Price isa concern but not the primary concern. I want something which has good quality but also bang for the buck. I'm leaning towards Racing Beat. You guys know where I can land my hands on one of these? Also, how much am I looking at? Thanks in advance!

THe RB header is $187, but it's not a bolt in, unless you buy the $200 presilencer that replaces the converter. If you make a small pipe with 2 presilencer flanges($10 each) it will bolt in.

 

Buy the Racing Beat set up. Buying the whole exhaust system with the pre-silencer is defnitley worth it! I love it! It's not worth it just buying the header only. Besides having the Racing Beat pre-silencer gives you the capabilty to still use your 5th & 6th port actuators which is the best part about it. You don't have to worry about wiring them open. This applies only to the 86 to 88 years though. Talk to ARD T2 he's ruuning a forum special for everybody. I bought mine from him. It's best to PM him and tell him Sully sent ya. Good luck

Here's my predicament now: I recently purchased a Catback HKS exhaust system. I absolutely LOVE the HKS exhaust and I relly dont want to lose it. Actualy i probably cant AFFORD to lose it. Will the racing beat header and presilencer fit with the HKS exhaust? The exhaust right now bolts directly to the cat. Anyways, again thanks for the awesome replies!

The RB header/presilencer combo will bolt to your HKS exhaust, as long as it was made for your car.
