Header Noise?

Tell me I don't still have a weird leak. Are you supposed to be able to hear the header? I mean, are the cumbustion pulses louder in the engine area with a header? I can hear this "blap-blap-blap" coming from the engine as I cruise around....

Sure did. Also, it only makes that moise under 3k or so. Above 3k, it sounds fine. This header has caused me more problems than it is worth...

My header gives a muted tinging sound as the sharp exhaust pulses hit it. Next these sharp pulses are shot down the header, and without a good presilencer or cat it sounds like a helicopter at mach 1. (popety pop) It is probably still doing it above 3k, but only the guy behind you hears it?

Cool. That is the exact way mine sounds. Just cruising through the parking garage here at work gets a little annoying as it goes "poppety pop."

well theres a leak there somewhere between the engine and the header. best suggestion, replace the gasket again and make sure the header is properly tightened.

btw what header is it? or was it custom made?

I want to get back to true dual, but I kept burning out the 2.25" ($20) turbo-pack presilencers. I am temporarily running a single 3" turbo-pack. Power is off a little, but it is staying glued together..

If I do have a bit of a leak, is there any epoxy or sealant that I could run a bead of around the seam to help? ANything with a high enough heat tolerence?

exhaust heat have warped some metal there if youv replaced gaskets and tightened to spec.

i know when i had my headers put in, the gasket was fine but when the headers were on there was insane noise from the front. replaced the gasket and it was all good..... did however blow the piping in my pre-siencer 2 days later.... ahahah
