Question Gxl

I have a GXL and i am wondering what is so different about them....why they give them different models. Is it just because of little things? Such as bigger brakes bigger suspension, no sun roof, sun roof, A/C no ac? Whats the dilly?

Thanks
Evan

Its all about the option packages. GXLs were the top of the line N/A models with most the options except for the turbo charger. Yes that included sunroof, 4 piston brakes, power windows, limited slip rear, 5 lug wheels, A/C, rear wiper, storage bins, and 5 way adjustable seats.

My 88 GXL has power windows/locks/moonroof/antenna, big brakes, 5 lugs, rear wiper, leather adjustable seats, theft deterant system, 2+2, a/c, adjustabel suspension. Think thats all.

Now what works? Uhhh...the brakes, and the 5 lugs wheels. Oh ya, I guess the 2+2 works

Now on my TII I got same exact **** except the leather seats and the theft deterant system but everything works.

I bought an 86 gxl and now it doesn't have:

ac, ps, 2+2, rear wiper, adjustable suspension, cc, and anything else I could rip out. Guess I should have gotten a GTU or GTUs or even a base

guess i should consider myself lucky that my 86 gxl has almost everything functional? (minus the power windows, oh, no door handle on the driver side, except what i rigged up ) ... oh, are you supposed to be able to notice a difference when you have your suspension switched to "sport" mode instead of normal?

Series 4 GXL was the top of the line n/a. In Series 5 (89-91) the GTU and the GTUs were the top of the line. And in 1991 the coupe was the only n/a option. (like mine!!)

GTU was not top of the line series 5, 89-90 GTU was the base model and GXL was the luxury model. GTUs was top of the line because it was the T2 everything without a turbo.
