gutting cats?

Why do you gut your cats? isn't that just a wate of time? Why not just gettin a straight pipe and down pipe? because it's illegal? NOT HErE, no emmisions here!

You've pretty much answered your own question. The only reason to hollow out the cat is to make it look stock but flow much better. This still won't flow as well as a straight pipe though, so just rip it out.

Plus, when you gut your cats, your flames aren't as nice as with having a Mid/Downpipe, and who doesn't love flames coming out of their exhaust? Plus if someone sees them and is like then I'll just pull a heheheh

I gutted my cats for a good reason. They were clogged up. This not only kills performance, but also pops engines. Nows that they are gone my car runs cooler, gets beter mileage, and runs stronger. Maybe this is how a good car runs normally, I don't know. My car had 98k miles on it by the time I bought it so I'm sure they've been toasted for a while. A big bonus is the flamage now.

My guess is out of the lower mainland, like somewhere on the island or something.
You're in richmond, hey? What do you do for emissions? We should swap stories....

Yeah I'm in richmond, I have been wondering what to do for emissions b/c I'm supposed to get my exhaust in a couple of weeks after the weather settles, how you like the foot of snow we got? I was thiniking of just getting my Aircare right before I get my exhaust then I have 2 years. Probably just end up getting my can flanged.

Yeah... who'd a thought we'd get this much snow, eh? (Here come the igloo and polar bear comments... And they're not joking either!)
Here's what I do for Aircare: My parents got a place on the island. I go ever there, tell them I've moved there, and get a year of insurance. Then I go back to the mainland. I drive VERY CAREFULLY (if you crash while in the mainland, insurance goes void.) or not drive at all, and then two weeks later, I get the insurance transferred back to the mainland. The insurance guys say to you, "Well, you really should get it aircared, but since you have a year of insurance, we can't really do anything."
There are a few other tricks you can try....

I did the pipe instead of gutting the cats and man did it make a huge difference. My daily driver is a n/a and I still have the stock mufflers and it has a nice sound to it. I am keeping my driver pretty tame but I am looking for a TII for a second and all bets are off for it. So I gues my point is get the pipe, beacuse I have heard gutted cats and they sound aweful.

I personally like the sound of gutted cats! Very chainsaw on crack'ish, but I still like it. People don't know what hell hit them when I pass them on backroads. They think an airplane is about to land on them!
