guages stopped working

guages stopped working

all my guages just stopped working except the speedo. whats the deal?

well its definatly an electrical problem because the spedo is cable driven.
first check for a fuse then see if you have power to the dash
you may need to take the guages out
most likely you have lost power to the guages because it would be rather odd for all the guages to brake at the same time
check the grounds to

Check the 7.5A METER fuse.

Check the speedo cable. Either it's fallen out of the back of the gauge cluster, it's fallen out of the gearbox, or it's snapped internally.

Check the wire hasn't fallen off the oil pressure sender. That's a common problem.

that happens to me, some times i just hit the top of the gage cluster hard, and that seems to bring them back to life lol

on the oil pressure sender is the wire the one that slips on loosely?? i think it was yellow and orange

What about in the case of a nonfuntioning temp gauge?
My temp gauge doesn't work.

It means that the wire from the temp sensor fell off. It's under the oil pressure sender. see the pic above.

as for the guy with the speedo cable problem, i had mine snap internally, just go to the junkyard and get another one off a similar rx7( i don think theres a diff in them). Its a pain to get onto the back of the gauges, but its not hard. And it screws into the transmission,........thick black cable, ya cant miss it!
