GSP turbo2 axles

I saw some GSP axles on partsgeek for the " 1987 Mazda Rx7 turbocharged" and was wondering if anybody has ever bought these before or is it better off just waiting for some OEM T2 axles?

I bought some from Summit Racing a couple years ago. They have about 9300 miles on them and so far so good.

I just purchased a set. Have yet to actually run them. Someone on Grassroots Motorsports bought the same brand, and said they worked fine but that he had to add grease. Apparently under each boot was a small smear of grease, but not nearly enough on the CV joint itself. I plan to do this sometime soon and take pictures as I go.

They're on sale right now on Rockauto, so I suggest you check there before purchasing since you might save some money.

+1, it would not be a bad idea to pop the boots off and add grease. Axles are really simple, use good grease (we use Redline CV2 on the race cars, but any synthetic would be fine)

I used them temporarily <500 miles. They fit and worked fine. Joints are a little looser than I expected for brand new parts.
I'd grease them before using them full time.

I got the wrong axles when I ordered from them. If you need a replacement Mazda 929 axles from the driver side work. Pick up two, then you also need a spacer. They are thicker and more robust, which is also a plus.

Just did an order for a pair. Saw some old posts with the same part number which turned out to be t2 axles. Figured $100 wasn’t a stretch in case they weren’t t2 axles.

anyone else order part number NCV47992 and have feedback? Just in case I need to cancel the order.

thanks.

That's the exact part number I ordered, and I got TII axles.

My pair just came in. Look to be right. Loaned out my spare t2 diff so haven’t checked the stub shaft bolt pattern, but the shaft thickness looks right.

rotated the outer cv and it does feel a bit rough, so might be worthwhile opening them up to check the grease.

if I ever do open them up (who knows when), I’ll take some pics and post them.

but hey, at least it ends the overpriced used t2 axle tyranny.

I guess I should grab a set just for the ends I'll need whenever I get to that part. I want to do the ford 8.8 with a 4.56 but I think you still need the t2 outers.

In case anyone is wondering what these axles look like inside:

Plenty o' grease.

If one is really concerned, it might be a good idea to completely disassemble and regrease with a quality brand. I'm not too worried about it considering another local Rx7 owner I know has been running them for years, including track use, and they're perfectly fine.

Since I just did it a couple minutes ago, I'll just say it's worth painting these when you get em. Obviously tape off where the axle seals to the hub assembly, but paint the bare metal thats not on a threaded or mating surface. I have my whole rear assembly out for differential issues, but I'm painting everything before it goes back on. Have had these axles for about 5 years, minimal rust, but still bare metal. Paint em
