CV boot replacement

Looking for a CV boot replacement recommendation. I have a torn inner . The mazda boots are 5 times more to other replacements . I think the mazda boot comes with a replacement clip. Dorman have a speedi-boot where you basically glue two halves together which would work on the inner boot without pulling the half-shaft. appreciate any recommendations and tips .is the correct size for the turbo shafts 3.85in vrs. the 3.3in size? ...thanks

I just bought CV replacement boot kits from Beck Arnley. They look to be quality made and come with the necessary hardware and packets of grease. Checkout the Rockauto website.

Those cheap soft Dorman neoprene boots are bandaids you have to change pretty often. Can’t give you a definite time since I only track my car about 50-100 miles a year but the Dorman boots dry up and crack, and I’ve changed them every 2-3 years.

I went with autozone Mazda 929 axles to replace my t2 axles ($260 a pair) and just drove them on the track last month and didn’t experience any problems. 929 axles were about 1cm shorter than the t2 axles.

I still have my oem t2 axles with plans on using oem boots but hoping the 929 axle solution will last. Plus I can buy spare 929 axles from autozone, bring them to the track, and replace them if they fail or return them if I don’t use them.

By the way, it’s a good idea to remove the old boot, clean all the parts with some degreaser and brake cleaner and regrease them.

Good info thanks...I imagine the mazda oem are the best quality replacements, but the price is a bit over the top..I'll most likely just hit up rockauto and just get a one piece replacement and stay away from the 2 piece boot...Anybody try the mevotech cv boot replacement? I've bought a couple of other suspenion components from that brand and they look like good quality replacements.

Also, with the special clamp provided with the boot kits requires special pliers to crimp it. They are one time use clamps. Keep that in mind when you are replacing your boots.
