Question Grinding gears while downshifting

when im driving my 2nd and 3rd gear almost always grind while im downshifting but never while im upshifting. when i downshift i usually rev to match the rpms. is this a synchro prob of do you think if i just put in the synth trans fluid itll be enough.

Synthetic is about your best bet to try. Does double clutching help (doubtful if you're rev-matching...)? What about upon a clutchless downshift?

you could just try not downshifting. brakes are alot cheaper than a motor, tranny, or clutch.

Please tell me you're joking.
Tell me how to accelerate on the freeway by using the brakes....
I downshift from fifth to third. For some reason, braking never crossed my mind.

Just curious-It won't grind if you downshift at a lower rpm, correct?
If this is the case, you can try synthetic, but the syncros are probably shot. Just replaced all syncros in my '89TII, would only grind if downshifting at higher than normal RPM's. Half the groves on the syncros were worn off.
