Green/black sensor? No idea where it goes

It's located near the temp sensor that goes to the T-housing. In front of the pulsation dampner.

the only spade connector I can think of over there would be for the plug on the water filler neck for the A/C

Yea the wire isn't really long enough to go anywhere then where it pretty much is but I still cant seem to find where it leads to.

If you're correct about it being A/C related then I won't need it plugged since I removed all my A/C equipment when dropping in a new motor.

Yeah, it looks like it's the one that goes to the top of the coolant neck thing. If it doesn't reach, are you sure it's not caught on something under the manifold? Mine has plenty of slack.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

If what I learned is correct that sensor is to turn on the aux fans for the A/C, thing is I never had those fans. I did have ac but i don't remember taking out any fans? just the condenser. My car is a 88 GXL btw.

Right now I just have a screw/allen stud drilled in to my T housing where the sensor would go(filler neck, you guys were right!). I do remember the previous owner switched out the t-housing for a TII housing, may be that's the cause.

I don't know what happen to those fans.

Pretty sure it would go on the water filler neck if you had an electric fan (automatic transmission). see page 3-8 of the FSM.

Do you got a s5 or s4?

Anyways I got a s5 and if I recall the aux fan in the front is temp controlled and for a/c whenever I turn my keys to acc when its like 90 outside or higher (or after a good drive) the fan will kick on forever

I'm not 100% sure but if I recalled something said the aux fan was put on 7's that were being sold in hotter areas.
