Greddy E-Manage System???
Does anyone have any experience with this engine management system? They have harnesses for RX7's and it's a pretty good price....................

The E-manage is GREAT!
If you want to keep the stock wiring harness. And if you want to keep the stock AFM. And if you want to spend just as much as a Microtech LT8 .

P.S. Yes, that was a shameless plug - the more people that get in on this, the lower the cost will be!

No it is not a standalone, it is a piggy back, though a very powerful functional one. So in reality the Emanage is not an EMS, but a piggyback fuel/ignition computer.
I would have to reccomend you follow the link in Brandons post too!

The e-manage is interesting me more and more. Not only can it can control the a/f ratios, but it can also adjust timing - something the safc and fconn from HKS doesn't do. Another cool feature is the ability to connect the e-manage with greddy guages and the new greddy3e-01 boost controller for some massive data logging. If it adjusted fuel according to load and not rpm point I would be sold.

I like it a bit, BUT you can only adjust fuel at 5 points. That I don't like at all If I could adjust it at 11 like the AFR they have (whatever it was called), I'd be all over it.

okay the E-manage itself has 5 rpm points then if you get the softwear cable you get 16 more points. Then if you get the pressure sensor or more injector (dont know which one) i think you get 16 more rpm tuning points

<shameless MT GB plug>
Ok, lets break down the cost of the e-manage
E-manage - $299
Support Tool - $119
Injector Harness - $35
Ignition Harness - $35
Pressure Sensor - $99
Pressure Sensor Harness - $30
Total: $617 + S/H
Microtech LT8 ~$700.
One of these options lets you remove your restrictive stock AFM. One of these options gives you complete control over ignition timing and injector timing. One of these options will allow you to replace you cooked stock wiring harness. One of these options has been proven on 10, 9 and 8 sec car in the land down under.
What will you choose?

7 sec cars, too. Add to that (and this is why I'm trying to push this so hard) the fact that if 15 people buy in (which it looks like we might just hit) %10 of the cost of the units gets chopped off... that's $65!!! That'll bring the cost of the unit UNDER $600!
A full standalone for less than $600!!!!

I'd like in on this. Few questions though.
1) Can we get rid of the stock sensors and use GM sensors like with the haltech?
2) What's the difficulty in installing and tuning one of these things? I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but don't want to get in over my head.

Yes, the GM sensors can be used. I can't help you source them or install them, but Jon might; I'm interested in as simple and low-cost as possible. As far as installing and tuning it, well, it's just like any other EMS.

I set the close date on this GB at Feb 21 just for guys like you. Three weeks should be plenty of time, man! Just eat lots of Ramen...

Well, sure you might be able to save $50 by going w/ the Emanage, but you also have to deal with all of the same old drawbacks that we've been discussing. If that's worth that little to ya, well... good luck

PS. the megasquirt is DIY. that means that you have to solder chips, capacitors, diodes, etc. all into a PCB yourself. if you aren't up to it, then you might want to either look somewhere else or get someone to build it for you.
I got my megasquirt board the other day and it is very pretty now I just need my stuff from digikey
EDIT: and no mine is not a shameless plug... there are no extra savings for getting a bunch of people together on this... also I have already ordered my stuff. I just want the forum members to know that it is indeed out there.
