Got the 5 beep blues...

Alright so I've got the steering wheel sensor beep going off, and the intermittant PS cutout. I'm not really worried right now about the power steering but the Beep is driving me crazy as the car doesn't have any radio or speakers or anything right now. My question is: Is there a wire I can cut or a plug-in I can disconnect to make that beeping stop??? Thanks... My sanity and I appreciate it.

Have you reinstalled your steering wheel recently? If you are only getting the 5 beeps, you might as well go ahead and take 5 minutes out of your day and check the alignment.

Would you disconnect the warning buzzer for coolant/oil/redline instead of fixing the problem?

No. I installed another Gauge Cluster cause the one that was in there was ka-fukd. What do you mean by five minutes to check the alignment? As far as I know, to align a steering wheel you have to take it all apart, use a puller to yank it of, then pray you're right next time as you press it back in...

If I knew there was no immediate car-life threatening problem, that the buzzer was just going off for no reason; then yes I would disconnect the buzzer.

I was just going by how long it took me to do it. I agree that nobody wants to hear the beeps. When I heard mine going off, that's what prompted me to realign things. I checked a thread here on the Club to see how to do it, and did it. No more beeps.

I see nothing saying anything about aligning the steering wheel...

I have found threads saying that they've done it and so on and so forth, is it really as easy as they are all making it sound? The only steering wheel experience I've had is with GM vehicles, and you pretty much have to use an underdrive pulley puller to get em off and pray you don't break everything to hell...

Off to check the FSM...
