Question good place to go for parts?

I'm going to be needing a bunch of miscellaneous stuff soon and I was wondering if there's a couple of good places to go. I've been using Malloy Mazda for dealer related stuff and they seem to have good prices. I'm looking for stuff like gaskets, shift lever dust boot, radiator gooseneck, a/c expansion valve etc.

Any suggestions?

Mazdatrix.....

I used to work for Malloy at one point back a few years ago... I don't know what their prices are compared to Mazdatrix, but I have always used Mazdatrix for O.E.M. parts.... Sometimes Mazadatrix may not have the parts so you may be forced to go with Malloy or local dealership.

Jeff at Apex takes care of me for my used parts. He's gone out of his way to make sure issues are resolved when there is a mis-ship. And he'll keep an eye out for you when you need something he doesn't have at the time you ask. Typically Very quick to reply to emails.

For new parts - OEM replacement exhaust parts you'll want to shop around for. NAPA / Auto Zone / Advanced are typically w/in a few bucks on some items (hoese, water pumps, etc.) Mazda (local parts shop) typically is the best place for really bizzar parts (spring for fuel door, rad drain and burp plug). E-Bay has surprized me a few times w/ good finds (injectors / TPS )

Just don't forget about the dealer. Grab a copy of the parts catalog from the FAQ and then just walk into the dealer with part numbers. Most parts arrive next day. Prices are reasonable.

Rockauto.com has a lot of cheap parts. Not a whole lot, but quality is good and it's way less expensive than a dealer...

i think people might be hesitant to put the obvious answer of ebay...

theres a lot of negative thoughts out there about ebay but i have always bought at least half my stuff from ebay, you just have to know how to filter the generic crap and find authorized dealers and people with ebay stores. For example i was looking at wheels the other day and found an authorized dealer of a certain brand of wheels in their ebay store, i went to their legitimate website and the price was $100 cheaper in their ebay store then on their website...

just my .02

I was told that anything is only worth what it would bring at public auction at any given moment.

Ebay is a great tool. I personally buy alot off of ebay, actually all of our vechicles have been purchased off ebay.

Everything you have mentioned here with the exception of the expansion valve would be best bought from the Dealership.

By the way guys Mazdatrix charges "List price" because they buy their OEM Mazda parts from the dealer.

Don't know what Malloy charges as I have never purchased from them. Do know from feedback that he gives the guys here great service.

Other Discount Mazda dealers are -

www.mazdaautoparts.com

www.onlinemazdaparts.com

I've heard conflicting reports on whether or not Black Dragon was getting out of the FC parts business. I know they've taken the FC off their website and supposedly have stopped publishing printed catalogs. Can you still buy parts if you phone them directly?

I also am a fan of Malloy Mazda and Parts Manager Ray Crowe. His prices are very reasonable for Mazda OEM and his service is excellent. Sometimes a given part will be cheaper at Mazdatrix, but more often than not their prices seem a little higher. I'm in favor of letting Mazda know there are still people out there looking for OEM parts for the FC so they're less inclined to discontinue everything!

Thanks all for the posts. It's a good list.

I have two specific questions now...

How about stock nuts and bolts? I hate the cheap looking aftermarket stuff and would like to find some of the hardened (looking at least) nuts and flange bolts.

How about hoses? Most of them are specially shaped. Is there a way to cheaply bend or shape your own?

Turblown usually has stuff in stock. Even if they don't list it on their website, you can call and see if they have it. They saved my butt once when I needed an intake gasket like NOW.

Just used the google and learned about fastenal.com. They have lots of stuff, including flange bolts. Worth checking out, I think.
