Going Single exit exhaust

pretty soon, probably after i rebuild my engine, i want to go single exhaust, but im still undecided on which to get. I like the Apexi GT spec, but i think that it's for turbo cars only since it has a 70mm pipe. The N1 looks pretty good too, but the single exit N1 is 65mm i think. My question is would 65mm be too much for my NA? When i rebuild it, i might look into porting it so would that have any affect on the exhaust working right with either a ported or unported engine? thanks guys hope i didnt ramble too much.

How much porting?

If you're just street porting then you'll probably be keeping aux. ports and such, in which case (depending on the seires you have) you don't want to go to big on the exhaust.

If you're bridgeporting (full or 1/2) you will want a nice meaty exhaust to let the ports do their job, not to mention you'll probably be running a 4-port block and wil have no aux. ports to worry about anyways.

still not sure if i wanna do the swap or just buy an 87TII, that way i can keep my NA kind of tame with some ***** when i need it lol. but about the port, if i can get the money i'd send it to kevin at rotary resurection and have him rebuild and street port it, but if i cant get all the money, i'd just buy the master rebuild kit and do it myself but without porting since i have no idea what i would be doing there. btw my na is series 5, so 65mm wont be too big?

thanks guys, i always see your posts in threads and they help me out a lot. I just wanted to make sure i wouldnt be losing any power by going too big on the piping, cause i know that going bigger on exhaust isnt always better, not like i need to crawl through it for any reason.

I'd go with Corksport. Apexi is over priced.

what downpipe are you going to use? I was looking to put a single tip N1 on my Turbo II but I am not sure which downpipe might work with it.

I'm NA so i dont have a DP, but for a header i'll probably go Racing Beat and a high flow cat, that way my 6 ports will still work as to running just the header and a test pipe. I still have to keep my old exhaust around though since im in cali, that way i can bolt it back up when smog time comes around. Those pictures are great, i can't wait till i have mine. Did it come with that little decal or did you have it made?
