Sound like mine. Your running really rich at idle. you need to lean out your idle mixture.

Thanks guys -- right after I hit the 'POST' button I realized that it was my mixture and fixed it right away -- Also, my buddy with the Digital Camera is coming by to get some vid of the idle fireballs... (just a quick adjust anyway) Now it only fires on massive rev drops and hard shifts... good times... AND!! while I had just pulled out of my drive and at the first stop sign at the end of my street I got pulled over: someone called in some "hot rodding" complaints... The cop was pretty cool, we talked about the REAL hot rods... ie the Stangs... and I got out of there without any fireballs and no problems...

thanks again...

Near(or on?) the passenger side strut tower is an adjustment screw to adjust the mixture on the 86-88s. Not sure about the 89-91s.

i know this is really ricey but it'd be really real cool to be able to just adjust your car to shoot flames whenever you want. does running that rich damage anything?

Actually my car now shoots flames whenever I want it too -- just redline it or come off the gas in the top of a gear -- pesky tailgaters no more! !!!!

If you want a rigging for flames -- go to flamethrower(s?).com
